Professional Information
Dr. Whitney George is Associate Dean of the School of Applied Health Sciences and Professor in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program. Dr. George holds her Ph.D. from the University of Florida in Counselor Education and her M.Ed. & Ed.S. from UF as well. Her M.A is from Boston College and her B.A. from Tulane University, both in Psychology. Dr. George is a member of the Northeast Florida Mental Health Counseling Association, American Counseling Association, Association of Counselor Education and Supervision and Association of Adult Development and Aging. She serves on the local boards for Aging True and the University of Florida College of Education (EduGators) Young Alumni Board. She is a licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Qualified Supervisor in the State of Florida. Dr. George was named a Jacksonville Business Journal 40 under 40 Professional in 2019, served as the co-chair for the Jacksonville University Strategic Plan, and as the inaugural JU Provost Fellow in 2021.
